The magic of watercolors is what brought me back to art after a twenty-year hiatus. There’s something wild and free about the medium. As I began making watercolors, portraits soon became my focus. Over 400 portrait paintings later, I still learn something new with each piece.
In March 2020, at the beginning of the worldwide quarantine, I offered portraits in return for donations to the Sawgrass Nature Center here in my home state of Florida. As a non-profit who makes the majority of their donations from people visiting, they suffered greatly from people unable to visit, leaving the rescued animals in need of feed and supplies. I was amazed at the generosity of those around me and we were able to raise three months of necessities for them.
At this time, I am currently taking commissions. E-mail me at smithandfritzy@gmail.com to inquire.
